Mike Golic Sr. was a fixture at ESPN for a quarter century (1995–2020), becoming one of the network's most recognizable radio personalities while co-hosting Mike & Mike and later Golic & Wingo. A 1985 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Golic Sr. was both a standout football player and collegiate wrestler, compiling a 24-4-1 wrestling record for the Fighting Irish. He went on to play eight seasons in the NFL as a defensive tackle for the Houston Oilers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Miami Dolphins. In 2015, he was honored by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as an Outstanding American for his advocacy for amateur athletics and extensive charitable work.
