Bregman on IL, Red Sox call up heralded Mayer

In between games of Saturday’s doubleheader with the Orioles, the Red Sox put Alex Bregman, who has a “significant injury” to his right quad, on the injured list and called up Marcelo Mayer, the No. 6 prospect in baseball and a key cog in their future.
